The result of an early development time is the amazing valve-controlled exhaust system developed by CAPRISTO® Exhaust. The first thing you'll notice is that the mufflers are crafted in true CAPRISTO® fashion, using only the highest grade polished stainless steel (T309), as well as all mounting points and hangers.
You will also notice is that the CAPRISTO® system retains the use of vacuum actuated valves to control the flow of exhaust under different driving conditions.
At idle and low speeds, the 458's exhaust exits only from the center pipe of its unique triple-exit center exhaust.
The CAPRISTO® system does not have any restrictive factory exhaust sound regulations, and was engineered and designed to let the howl of the 458's 9,000 rpm redline to be heard by all with the distinctive CAPRISTO® sound...
The CAPRISTO®'s high performance headers use a 4 into 1 style collector which gives more horsepower higher in the high rpm range, and which gives a better spread of power and our sports cat are 200 cells providing a much better flow with less restrictions compare to the OEM ones.
By installing a CAPRISTO System, you will not only improve dramatically the sound of your vehicle, but you will also be able to get the power in the rpm range where you would normally drive the car. It is also noted that very few people drive their road vehicles at max rpm at all times and for "every day" application.
Like our other high performance exhausts, the 458 system is intended to be a balanced increase between power, drive ability and sound quality, without forgetting of course a substantial loss of weight.
EXHAUST:
The CAPRISTO® Valve-controlled exhaust system for the Ferrari 458 is designed for accurate fitting to the original connections and is completely made from from T309 grade stainless steel.
MANIFOLD:
The manifolds work on the "4 in 2 in 1" principle, and are made entirely from T309 grade stainless steel . They feature a significantly changed pipe routing compared with the stock manifolds. These manifolds fit on the original mounting points and a replacement of the original manifold can be carried out without any problems.
HEAT SHIELDS:
The 458 caused some negative headlines due to some heat problems. CAPRISTO® established that too much heat was released from the components of the exhaust system into the engine department.
For this reason and as part of its exhaust development for the 458, CAPRISTO® developed heat protecting shields with more efficiency than the stock parts providing an increase performance lost from 'heat soak'.
It is important to note that Ferrari 458 owners are not allowed to have the headers installed without the heat protection shields.
Remote Control:
The CAPRISTO® Exhaust Remote Control gives you the ability to control the flaps to open permanently, without the in-series control being able to intervene. When the exhaust valve system is closed again with the use of the remote control unit, then the in-series control unit will again take over the control of the exhaust valves.
